Maaike Steinebach is an entrepreneur and change catalyst transforming women’s health and technology across Asia.
With 20 years of leadership in financial services and technology, Maaike has held C-suite roles at Fortis Bank, ABN Amro, and Commonwealth Bank of Australia. In 2018, she co-founded the Hong Kong Fintech Association and the HK Women Chief Executive Network, building platforms that foster collaboration, meaningful networking, and innovation. Her first major pivot came in 2019, when she became General Manager of Visa Hong Kong & Macau, leading a more tech-focused agenda and driving partnerships with Airwallex and ZA Bank, introducing innovations that strengthened Hong Kong’s digital finance landscape.
A fervent advocate for equality, inclusion, and tech, Maaike Steinebach believes technology can democratise mental, physical, and financial well-being. This passion, combined with her own experiences juggling leadership, motherhood, and caregiving, guided her 2023 pivot to women’s health and femtech. A field she sees as transformative for underserved, underfunded, and often taboo aspects of women’s well-being in Asia.
Steinebach founded Femtech Future Limited, an advisory firm helping both startups and multinational companies integrate women’s health into workplaces and strategies, while educating leaders on innovation in women’s health. She also co-founded the Women’s Health in Focus Summit and The Health Suite, creating spaces where discussion, research, and practical solutions intersect.
She is the host of Femtech at Work, a podcast showcasing inspiring femtech founders, corporate champions of women’s health, and ecosystem innovators. The show explores reproductive health solutions, diseases that disproportionately affect women, and the role of workplaces in driving impact and change.
Maaike Steinebach tackles the gender health gap with insight and empathy, normalising conversations on fertility, menopause, mental health, and more, while mentoring founders who have lived the problems they aim to solve. Her contributions have been recognised with awards including the Jessica Women in Tech Award 2024 and the Harper’s Bazaar Inspirational Women Award 2023.
Steinebach currently sits on the board of Splash Foundation, a Hong Kong-based NGO teaching domestic workers and underprivileged families to swim, exemplifying her commitment to accessibility and empowerment.
