Julian Black Lifetime Contribution to the Industry Award

The Fund Finance Association (FFA) established the Julian Black Lifetime Contribution to Industry Award in 2018 to recognize individuals who demonstrate dedication to the selfless service of the Fund Finance industry, which is the legacy left by the beloved Julian Black. Mr. Black's contributions to the fund financing market both in the Cayman Islands and globally, as well as his extensive charitable efforts, are remembered and honored each year with the presentation of this award.

We are thrilled to announce F. William Reindel as 2024’s recipient of the Julian Black Lifetime Contribution to the Industry Award. In his 45+ year career, F. William (Bill) Reindel has built from the ground up Fried Frank’s Finance Practice and, within that, its Fund Finance Practice, and helped both grow into the thriving, diverse practice groups they are today. He has been at the forefront of this innovative sector from day one, advising his longtime client Goldman Sachs on its first fund finance deal. His intellect, generous and inclusive spirit, client service focus and leadership at Fried Frank and within the fund finance industry is unparalleled and reflective of the selfless legacy of Julian Black, making him deeply deserving of the Fund Finance Association’s Julian Black Lifetime Contribution to the Industry Award.
